In case you still wanted to see what I’ve been posting, I’ve found a new home. It had been so long since I had posted here that I felt I should start on something new. So here it is!

I’ve been asked to speak to a bunch of Aggies this weekend about what Christians believe. That shouldn’t be hard right?
Christians believe..
…the president is the anti-Christ. …the last president is the anti-Christ. …Jesus is their president.
…Christians speak in tongues. …some Christians speak in tongues. …some...

A friend sent me this link as we discussed blogging, and I thought it was definitely some food for thought. I’ve been focusing a lot on intentionality in blogging a lot lately, and thought maybe this post would inspire some thought.

You just have to trust me on this one.
1) Go to deviantart.com.
2) Click on “Photography”.
3) Click on “People & Portraits”.
4) Click on “Infants and Children”.
5) Search snow.
It sounds weird. I know. It probably is. But I am pretty sure children in snow is the most beautiful image of purity and joy I can think of, and I could look at photos of their unaffected bliss all day.
But I have a new love for that glittering instrument, the human soul. It is a...

Day one of reading the New Testament in 23 days went so well. I’m so glad I’m doing this. Being reminded of fulfilled prophecies and miracles and Jesus’ strength is SO refreshing. I like imagining Him speaking - He’s the perfect representation of firmness and love and intelligence. It’s sad how we water down the Bible with loose references and mindless misuses when...
Before I leave for school, I am determined to read the New Testament straight through. Here’s my schedule in case you want to follow along! It’s not too bad… About twelve pages or so a day.
8/29: Matthew 1 – Matthew 11
8/30: Matthew 12 – Matthew 21
8/31: Matthew 22 – Matthew 28
9/1: Mark 1 – Mark 9
9/2: Mark 10 – Mark 16
9/3: Luke 1 – Luke 8
9/4: Luke 9 – Luke 16
9/5: ...
If we died with him, we will also live with him;
if we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we disown him, he will also disown us;
if we are faithless, he will remain faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.
[ 2 Timothy 2:11-13 ]
May my prayer like incense rise before You
The lifting of my hands as sacrifice
Oh Lord Jesus turn Your eyes upon me
For I know there is mercy in Your sight
Your statutes are my heritage forever
My heart is set on keeping Your decrees
Please still my anxious urge toward rebellion
Let Love keep my will upon its knees
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are...
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[ Romans 8:38-39 ]
Woah.
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His...

My only fear going to college: Not making friends.
I’m realizing how unreasonable that fear is. Looking back at the people God has surrounded me with, I can’t say I’ve been short of people to connect with and learn from and love. I feel like God’s thinking, “Come on Chelsea, you know me better than that. You know the church better than that, too. You know the binding...
As we trust in the promises of the Spirit, we will be led away from discouragement and into lives marked by confidence, power in the midst of our weakness, and the fruit of the spirit.

love // joy // peace // patience // kindness // goodness // faithfulness // gentleness // self-control
You don’t have to be any specific anything. Acknowledge the Spirit...
By journeying honestly, I hope we can go beyond our current understanding of the Holy Spirit and begin to commune openly… That our experience with Him would be day by day, even moment by moment. That by keeping in step with the Spirit, we might regularly fellowship over what He’s doing rather than what He did months or years ago.
[ Francis Chan - Forgotten God ]
We are not all we were made to be when everything in our lives and churches can be explained apart from the work and presence of the Spirit of God.

There are no more tears. We’ve used them all so now we’ll rely on our laughter, And the faith that pain gives joy.

It’s a harsh, difficult reality that they people I rely on most leave within days of each other. The ones who understand me the best and give me the most Godly insight. It’s like a joke that I’m not laughing at yet, and tomorrow it begins.
It makes me sick to think that my hurts can’t be healed by the people who understand them best, but I know that that’s God’s way of saying, “CHELSEA. I’m STILL...
Today as I desperately tore apart my duffle to find my phone, I came upon a voicemail from my dear friend Jade. Excited to listen, I stepped outside the cabin to ensure I could find good reception.
Jade is “the encourager”. Everyone who knows her knows this - a reputation she’s developed because, well, she lives up to the name. I can’t think of a single time I have felt...
Three years ago I started loving Jesus, but He’s loved me far far longer.
I can’t say I’ve ever (or ever will) come across the promise I’ve found in Jesus’ love - the one that found me openhearted on August 7, 2007 and that has unceasingly driven itself into my every day. The restlessness with which God’s comfort has penetrated me was the same that night as it...
Crafts & Paintball & Inspiration Point & Jesus & games & spirit & comfy clothes & junior highers & love & mediocre food & conversation & one pieces & beautiful mountains & playing piano & more Jesus. Wildside camp… So excited.
Three more days until more of this.
Patient. Kind. Not envious. Not boastful. Not arrogant or rude. Not insistent on its own way. Not irritable; not resentful. Rejoices in truth - not in wrongdoings. BEARS all things. BELIEVES all things. HOPES all things. ENDURES all things.
God is patient with His children who so often make their own way. He does not envy others because He is holy. He does not boast of the beauty He has created -...

What I learned!
Simple title for a not-so-simple subject, but nevertheless, a simple post.
I heard once that when we feel like we’re not learning anything new, it’s probably because we need to work on things or focus on concepts we’ve already learned. I have no doubts about this, because so often I hear a verse I like, look it up, and find I’ve already underlined parts of it and taken...
The most wonderful way to end high school: laying on my bed with Brooke Tsuyuki, who I have been blessed to call my best friend for a number of years now, talking about the past and the present and the future, all of which we get/have gotten to spend together. Then spending time with my parents, who have certainly put up with a fair few too many blips on the “raising me” screen, joking...
